2008 SAAB 9-3 Diesel Manual Saloon by Billy Barnes • 14th August 2018
Was a nice looking car when it first came out but looks dated now compared to its rivals. The interior was very plastic but the leather seats are of a decent quality, which sort of made up for this. The boot was more than large enough for golf clubs, which is always important. Was nice to drive on the motorway and reasonably frugal. The down side of these cars is the upkeep with higher miles. Clutches and flywheels wear out around 100k and are expensive to replace (£900-£1100). The turbo will wear out around the same time; as will the wiper motor and the resistor for the heating unit (almost yearly). Moved on to an A4 since and have had none of these issues.
