2007 Honda Accord Diesel Manual Hatchback by HonestGuy • 17th May 2017
Bought this car back in 2013. Never had diesel before but liked the smooth pull from low revs all the way to the max. It is an EX model and got all extras as satnav, heated/electric seats , hands free, sunroof , leather interior, folding mirrors etc - all very nice.Having said that I hit a bad egg. Three monts later had to change flywheel/clutch - completely burned, then timing chain, next year the steering rack leaked and had to be replaced, then the infamous VSI- vehicle stability unit failed. Did all repairs myself but still had to buy the parts. From aside all that look bad and here is the main point: anyone willing to follow my steps of buying 90k or more diesel Honda driven localy and hardly serviced properly is taking huge risk. Even regularly serviced cars with this mileage have to be inspected thoroughly. Any clutch slippage, chain rattles or strange noises - just walk away. Honda parts are very expensive, not to mention labour. I generaly do not trust main dealer servicing so even a car with full service history is not to be taken as a safe buy. Take a mechanic to check it. Now the good things - totally love it ,drives well , equipment that come with EX is good, like the leather interior , satnav, touch screen, heated seats are my favoutite, looks great , it's quiet. Hope this helps a little.

Bought this car last year as my previous one was Honda and although different model it was absolutely brilliant.Had very expensive repair from the beginning - first the clutch needed replacement with the flywheel then the chains had to go for a total of £1100 parts only. Despite these troubles I just love it.It is smooth and quiet and comfortable .Have done 12k since I bough it and can't fault it except the things above for which I can blame myself only for not having properly tested it. Advise: Do not buy anything without FULL SERVICE HISTORY( Honda preferably),check clutch and chains

Love the car have it 1.5years so far and very happy, quality feel and safe and secure loadsa great features and varieties. mine is 2007 model and has now 124000 miles on it and it hasn't a rattle yet fully silent best quality car ive ever had so far.
We purchased our 2007 Honda CRV to tow a caravan and provide a spacious family vehicle. After a 3 week trip to France the CRV passed with flying colours. Fuel consumption is adequate for the vehicle specification and the vehicle kit is impressive. One issue I would highlight is a squeaking clutch pedal, this was replaced under warranty by Honda and is a common problem with this model.
