2011 Audi A3 Diesel Manual Hatchback by Seamus • 26th October 2012
Have owned my A3 S-line Black edition from new for just over a year and a half. Standard trim considering this is the top of the range bar the S3 is a bit basic compared to many mainstream cras and soon adds to the list price if adding them as options. Now with little over 28k on the clock I have to say I have been very happy with everything so far. Long life service schedule means only 1 service so far which was very reasonable at my local independent garage. Ride is a bit frim being the s-line trim but suits me fine. Looks well from every angle and does receive a lot of looks from passers by. Only real expense so far is the tyres, front doing about 12k rear just about done at 28k but costly enough to replace at around £170 each.

2004 Ford Focus Diesel Manual Hatchback by S & A • 26th October 2012
Bought this Focus in 2005 aged 16 months with about 10k on the clock. 1.8 TDCi Zetec 115. Car never let us down at any point. Properly serviced at the recommended intervals and nothing ever went wrong. Treat a car well and I doubt it will let you down. Sold at around 90,000 miles last year and will be good for another 100k im sure. Upgraged to a new model 1.6 TDCi Titanium and so far another lovely Ford. No costs to date. Would have no hesitation buying another. Cant understand why people expect to be able to run a car into the ground and expect it to provide loyal cost free service.

Having owned and drove a number these cavaliers over the years they are good going car and proves the point that there is still some good examples of them about today.

Parts are cheap, can do big millage with out any major issues, and still get the looks from the people who always wanted or had one when they where younger.

2005 SsangYong Rodius Diesel Automatic 5 speed MPV by John • 21st January 2013
Owned a Rodius for 4 years and bought second hand. This really is such a practical car, having 7 adult size seats and a huge boot to rival any estate car. Climate control with roof aircon vents and a seperate heater for the back seats.

Reliability has been great with a smooth Mercedes sourced engine and Auto gearbox. Fuel consumption around town is 30mpg and fully loaded with 7 and lugagge got around 37mpg. Only 'breakdown' was a leaking Power steering rubber hose. Servicing has been under £200 a year.

It doesnt feel as big as it looks when driving.

I dont think there are any other MPVs out there that rival the car for £ value that this offers

Love this car, so roomy, lovely to drive, flexible layout, and light interior all make up for the low mpg. If you buy a well serviced old model, you won't be disappointed!

2005 Vauxhall Zafira Petrol Manual MPV by Tim • 6th February 2013
We've had our 1.6 petrol manual Zafira since it was 3 years old (ex-Motability car). 70,000 miles in 5 years and still on original clutch, and exhaust. It does about 38 mpg, which isn't bad for a big car. Running costs have been minimal - timing belt / water pump, tyres, brake pads etc. The AC has packed up, probably needs a new condensor but we can live without it - it wasn't great when working anyway. It doesn't rattle or leak. My wife loves it, great family car which we plan to hold on to for as long as we can.

2006 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel Manual Saloon by Danny Paton • 6th July 2013
Have had the 06 Jetta for over 5 years now. Was 15k miles on her then and there are 101k on her now and shes never given me a bit of bother - bar the brake management system failing within 50k.

Apparently this was a common fault in the various VW family different cars.
VW paid 100% parts 50% labour so I wasnt too annoyed.

Couple of minor things going wrong with her now, EGR valve is going to need replaced and ill have to get a new set of shocks for the suspension but nothing you wouldnt expect for the miles shes done.

Very sturdy, safe car - the doors weigh a tonne!

She doesnt have anywhere near the toys of a Passat - they are more like VW Golf's only with a rear end!

2010 Seat Exeo Diesel Manual Sedan by jay • 15th November 2013
This is a super car which I've owned for 18mts and it covered just under 70k of which I've done 30. Everyday running the car is no hastle and is a good car to drive on the commute as its comfortable and quite but as it's a 170 overtaking is easy and if your in a rush it will easily do the job.
Fuel economy is ok too once you get over the initial shock of the 65ltr tank. Generally I
See a full 600 mile to one tank and the OBC generally averages about 44mpg. The tax is a bit expensive at 175 but I think it's worth it for the few extra horses. I bought the car due to a new arrival and all the gear that goes along with it and the boot on this car is massive plenty of room for a buggy and the weekly shopping. In the cabin however it's actually a bit tight once the baby seat is behind the passenger that seat needs to be fully forward so the child has leg too also the way the back narrows you won't seat three adults in the back of this car and leg room behind the driver is poor also but the seats are comfortable and supportive and have great adjustment on them so achieving a perfect driving position is easy. As for toys my sport model has everything auto lights auto wipers and climate control. The stereo is good as standard but I personally wouldn't have minded the Bose upgrade similar to the a4.

Big bug bear with this car is the front suspension. It seems to be a fault with the style of it and the passat a4 and a skoda I think suffer the same. At about 60k the front of the car rattles and bumps going slow over uneven roads. Now I pulled out the whole top section and replaced it and it did fix it but it cost 400 for parts which around the same time as the timing belt was a big chunk of money to throw at a relatively fresh car but I suppose the excellent ride and handling has some cost. I did fit febi parts as I was assured they are superior to seat or audi parts so I will see in another 60k I suppose.

Overall this is a super car it looks sharp has plenty of toys and gadgets to keep you in control and entertained as you go about your driving. I would consider a second one come time to change as I am so pleased with it.

2012 Ford Kuga Diesel Manual 4x4 by shatter • 3rd January 2014
I have the 163 titanium. Last of the old shape. A pleasant car to drive with the basic creature comforts. Reversing sensors are extra and personally the key-less starting is annoying with nowhere to set the keys. Opening the bonnet is a key splitting broken nail effort. Why it needs to be opened with a key defies me. The split tailgate is perhaps a nice touch but unnecessary. Averaging 39 mpg over the last 4000 miles is the best i have managed. From 2nd gear on this is a reasonably quick car. It pays to shop around for servicing as there is quite a difference in the various Ford dealers.
Overall a very pleasing car.

2003 Renault Megane Petrol Manual 6 speed Hatchback by Luke McCorry • 18th March 2015
One of the best cars I've ever owned. 90k miles with nothing more than a MAF sensor, electric window regulator and boot catch (besides regular servicing). I picked the best engine in my opinion, the 2.0 VVT petrol with 6 speed manual gearbox. Averages 34MPG, road tax is a bit steep at £265 pa. It's very quick, sits just above 1000rpm in sixth gear at 40mph. Mine has lots of extras, panoramic glass roof, full black heated leather, climate control and keyless start. Ride can be a bit crashy with the upgraded wheels but they do look much better than the standard ones. I've bought many cars since, but still have the Mégane and have never found anything quite good enough to replace it permanently.

Bought this car for my wife, 40k miles. Was told it had a FSH. Changed the oil as you do. Timing chain stretched. £700 with Charles hurst Belfast to leave it right. Then got the car back which was leaking oil. Charles hurst said that's an extra £250 to fix oil seals. Car great but make sure the oil has been changed regular. Charles Hursts I'll never be back.

2008 Honda CR-V Diesel Manual 4x4 by Colonel63 • 30th September 2016
Owned the car for over 2 years now. Bought car with 89000 miles and now sitting at 112000. The car has been utterly reliable and never let us down. It came with full Honda Service history and I've maintained that. I've found the Honda technicians very competent (owned 6 previous Hondas). Only issue I've had was a creaking clutch (worked perfectly fine just annoyed me). I contacted Honda uk and they agreed it was a common problem and actually paid half the costs both parts and labour! I doubt, very much indeed, any/many other manufacturers would do that. I live in a hilly area and in winter the roads can be really bad, however the CR-V has got through snow etc with ease when other cars were abandoned. I would recommend this car to anyone.

2005 BMW 535D Diesel Automatic by Matt Wilson • 23rd May 2017
Being the proud owner of a 2005 BMW 535d M-Sport for the past 3 years. The car has 145K on it and I would still jump into it and travel the length of the country with no nerves for reliability. The car looks smart, returns good MPG for the size and feels very safe on the road. Would recommend this car to anyone looking for a car that is practical for every day use, comfortable for longer commutes, powerful for when needed and also a pleasure to own. OK, yes the maintenance costs are slightly more than what you would expect to pay, but that is part and partial of ownership of a large performance german saloon. My car is now 12 years old and I have no plans to change in the near future.

Strongly recommend this car to anyone and will continue to enjoy ownership of mine.

Thank You.
