2006 Vauxhall Vectra Diesel Manual 6 speed Hatchback by DJ • 29th April 2012
Lovely car to drive , has plenty of performance acceleration when required. Road holding is leech-like and handling is nicely weighted balanced with good feedback through steering and Sports suspension awith 17" Alloys. Braking is easy and assured , no hysterics , no fadeout , nicely weighted pedal feel..Handbrake is not as impressive , just about does its job! Careful parking on a slope!
Fuel economy (when you consider the performance) is really good working out at(58mpg)overall..63+mpg on motorway at 80mph , around 52mpg in urban/town traffic!
Alternator burnout is common between 90-120K
miles..as is , Dual-mass Clutch failure a well known problem , also the EGR valve jamming/failing and Injector wiring loom problems(there was a recall to remedy)
Heater Fan/Blower thermistor failures are common too.. Water pump & Timing belt replacements are crucial , not to be neglected!
Other wise car is 100% reliable and requires only regular servicing , ie Oil & Filter every
20K miles if using 05-30W fully synthetic Castrol or Mobil..
Love the car , has ample interior space with good boot , good supportive seats.
Dash is typical Germanic/functional but everything works!
a Value for money car! :)

2006 Vauxhall Zafira Diesel Manual MPV by Sadiebecks • 5th April 2012
I have owned my diesel Zafira for five years and it has served me very well. It is very roomy with a huge boot. The two extra seats in the boot have come in handy on numerous occasions and are easily put up and down. Our family has had great use of this car.

2006 Vauxhall Signum Diesel Manual 6 speed Luxury/Exec by Azzymo • 5th January 2012
For some strange reason I'd always wanted a Signum. Maybe it was due to having the useability of a Vectra in a rather rare shell. Very few of these about. Rarer still was I kept an eye out for an Elite, top spec. Why settle for anything less? The Signum had it all, spaces in bucket loads, full leather, heated seats, adjustable boot/rear passenger space, great stereo, Sat nav, you name it, it had it. Well all apart from reliability.

Seemingly the worst engine in the Vauxhall range is the 150cdti, which was what I had under the bonnet. I could bore you with all (alot!) that went wrong in just over 4 weeks of ownership but I shant. Suffice to say it limped back to the dealership as I realised that you should never buy your (realistic) dream car. My wife was rather pleased though as she hated the size of the thing, which I actually enjoyed. It's quite a bus. It's a very comfortable place to be when it's going and is rather quick for a big girl but was rather thirsty. The boot space was incredible plus I had intended to purchase the fridge unit which fits inbetween the two rear seats, yes, a fridge in your car. This car really had all of Vauxhalls ideas put into one car and it was nice but with high running costs and drastically bad relability I was glad to get my old car back and get my money back too. Unfortunately the more I researched the issues I came across, I found I was not the only one facing hefty repair bills for a diesel Vauxhall. The Signum was refreshing different and affordable to buy but some things are just too good to be true.

My Vauxhall Vectra 1.8vvt

2006 Vauxhall Vectra Petrol Manual Hatchback by NIALL CULLEN • 16th December 2011
Owened my car now 13 years. Have to say it's never let me down. The 1.8 vvt is one on the best Reliable engines in the Vectra C range with the 2.0T the best. Car comes standard with cruise control and aircon and 17"Alloys. The 1.8vvt comes with 140bhp which is nippy enough for me but can't be mapped unlike the CDTI diesels. I've modded mine with Xenon lights as its known that the standard lights on the vectra with projector lenses is bad. I was lucky enough to pick up a factory fit sav nav from a scappy to give the car that more luxuray look. Thanks to membership at www.vectra-c.com any small problems I've had, the guys on there help me sort them myself. running cost are good with no problems. I get 32mpg city driving around Belfast and up to 43mpg on motorway runs. Heavy foot can see these figures drop by 7mpg.
